Kaya Wanjoo (hello and welcome) to everyone.
Last term highlighted to me just how far we have come as a school in the last few years. It was a busy, productive, and very enjoyable term. Our wonderful P&C organised our first school disco in a very long time and it was a resounding success! My sincere thanks to all the parent and staff volunteers who made our ‘glow’ themed disco so enjoyable for our kids.
Our Year 6 camp was held in Busselton during Week 9. It was one of the best camps I have been on and my sincere thanks goes out to: our Year 6s for their behaviour; our Year 5/6 teachers for their efforts in running such a smooth camp and; to Len and Bev from All Aboard Tours for their kindness and professionalism. Please check out our Facebook posts for some wonderful photos.
Semester One reports are now available on Compass. Just click on your child’s profile to find the ‘reports’ tab. If you need help accessing your child’s report, then please contact the school.
Mobile phones were an issue last term. Unfortunately, we had students not following our “off and away all day” policy which has been recently updated by the school council and is available in the policy section. If your child brings a phone to school, can you please remind them to hand their phones into their teacher. Every day.
E-safety. It is a good time to remind everyone that students in primary school should not be on many of the social media platforms. The recommended minimum age for many platforms like TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat is 13. There is a genuine risk of students being identified when they post video and images of themselves in school uniform. Please have a chat with your child about e-safety and visit the commissioner’s website for advice and support: Parents | eSafety Commissioner
We hope you enjoyed the winter break, and ready for another wonderful term of learning.
Boordawan (I’ll see you soon),
