Aussie of the Month at East Waikiki PS recognizes personal endeavour, achievement and contribution to the community.
The award also reflects some of the values we share as Australians such as a sense of fair play, generosity of spirit, commitment to community participation and a real concern for the environment.
Each month students are chosen as the Aussie of the Month and recipients are presented with a badge, certificate and gift pack at the school assembly.
Teachers are asked to nominate students they think worthy throughout the school year.
Parents are then advised through a phone call which assembly the award will take place in the hope they can be present on the day.
