Dear Parents / Caregivers,
I would like to introduce myself as the current Principal at East Waikiki Primary School while Mr Clatworthy is taking leave.
I started here in the last week of term 1 and have been asked by the Department of Education to continue for the first 5 weeks of this term. I have been a Principal in a number of schools across Western Australia.
The focus of my work has been to prepare and work with staff in preparing the East Waikiki response to the current Covid-19 Pandemic.
These have been anxious times for all but especially for our students.
I would like to thank all parents for their understanding in the processes we have put in place in response. This has included the restriction on parent entry to the school, and the assistance in delivering students to the gates and ensuring a quick pick up at the end of the day.
East Waikiki staff have been outstanding in preparing the work packages, the online resources and ensuring the class teaching has resumed effectively. Class teachers are actively contacting and responding to all parents to ensure open communication between home and school.
Like you we are hopefully waiting for the next announcement of changes to restrictions and will advise you of changes for East Waikiki Primary as soon as we can.
We will continue to use Facebook, SMS and the website to inform parents of current updates.
I look forward to working with you across the coming weeks. If you have any queries please contact me at school on 9591 6600.
