Kaya Wanjoo (hello and welcome) to everyone.
We are well into our learning program this term and it won’t be long before our teachers are writing up the Semester One reports. I am very pleased with the way everyone at East Waikiki is approaching our new literacy and numeracy programs – it is making a big difference to the learning of all of our students, so ‘thank you’.
A reminder to our Year 6 parents: It is not long to go until we have our Year 6 camp to Busselton in Week 10. Please check on Compass to make sure you have provided consent and have a payment plan in place.
This term we have the AGM for our P&C along with our regular school council meetings. If you would like to be involved in either of these groups please drop into the office and let us know.
Yesterday marked the start of The Premier’s Reading Challenge. Anyone from Kindergarten to Year 10 can register to take part in the challenge. You can access over 7,000 book titles, which can be logged onto your child’s bookshelf. While the challenge is for your child to log a minimum of 12 books, feel free to log more!
You can log a book that is on the booklist, or add a book.
By logging books, your child can be in the running to win fantastic weekly prizes. The prizes include experiences such as a zipline from Matagarup Bridge.
All students who log a minimum of 12 books over the challenge are also in the running for an end-of-year prize.
