COLOUR “RUN4FUN” EXPLOSION UPDATE

Thank you to date for your support of the P&C with the School Colour Explosion™ Run. The event is tomorrow which is very exciting. This is the major fundraising event for the P&C this year, and we are looking forward to the continued support of our East Waikiki families to make this a great afternoon.

It is our responsibility to ensure that this event is safe for all students, and follows the current COVID-19 restrictions.

?The P&C have organized safety glasses for each student to wear, however if students want to bring their own glasses they may.

The event will start at 1:30pm on the school oval. Here, the P&C will have an obstacle course set up, allowing students the chance to get wet, then run through powder stations and enjoy some simple obstacles to climb over or get through.

Children are encouraged to
?• change into a white shirt at lunchtime on Friday as they will be covered in vibrant, non-toxic colour powder during their run.
?• carry their asthma inhaler and all families to be aware of the possible effects of the powder.
?• bring an old hat to wear

As with all events this year, the school and P&C follow the latest COVID -19 updates from the department of Education. It is important to remember that the school is still observing State Government Phase 4 guidelines for COVID 19 and as such the school will continue to prioritise student, staff and parent health and well-being as outlined by the Premier and WA Department of Health. As such:

?• Interactions between parents and staff and students will be limited.
?• Parents who do attend the event will be asked to stay behind the boundaries set around the fun run obstacle course.
?• Only P&C members directly assisting with the event will be permitted within the obstacle course.
?• Parents who do attend, are only permitted on the school oval.
?• At the end of the event, all students will return to their class with their teachers and can be picked up following normal times and procedures at 2.30pm.
?• Parents are asked to maintain social distancing, and not gather in large groups to watch.
?• The event may be cancelled at short notice by the school or P&C
